Saved on your device
Your browser keeps up to six small things for Smash, all named “smash-…”:
- your biggest bill
- whether sound is on
- 60-second or endless runs
- your look sensitivity
- whether you’ve seen the tour
- that Stats is off (kept only while it’s off)
Of these, only the timed-or-endless choice is in game stats. A receipt you share also shows it, and whether your bill is a new record. To erase them all, tap Clear saved data in Settings, or clear this site’s data in your browser. Clearing also turns Stats back on. If your browser blocks site storage, switching Stats off lasts only until you reload.
Game stats
To see how Smash is played and make it better, on 1 visit in 5, picked at random on your device, the game sends our server a few numbers and labels:
- that the game opened, its load time and the time to your first smash
- touch screen or not, in-app browser or not, challenge link or not, and today’s listing or a private showing
- how a run ended: bill rounded to 2 figures, time rounded to 10 seconds, timed or endless, ended early or not, apartments, Linda’s calls answered or ignored and any meltdown, listing number, challenge result
- share steps, and whether you played again
- the channel named in your link (one we list, like “x”, otherwise just “other”)
We store each with the time it arrived, and with no name, IP address, ID or cookie: we never link stats to a person, or one visit to the next. They stay in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine for about 3 months. We may keep totals worked out from them, like runs per day, for longer.
Stats are on by default; switch them off any time in Settings → Stats. Nothing is sent when Stats is off, when your browser sends Global Privacy Control, or when your device’s time zone could be in the EU/EEA or doesn’t say where you are (like UTC). That’s checked on your device; we never look up your location.
No Cloudflare Web Analytics, and no other analytics, ad or tracking scripts.
Hosting
Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) hosts Smash for us. With every request, your browser sends it your IP address, browser details and the address of the page. Cloudflare processes them for us under its data processing agreement, to deliver the game and keep it safe, and may do so in the United States and other countries where it has data centres. That agreement includes the EU’s standard contractual clauses. We don’t keep any of it.
Cloudflare may also ask your browser to report network errors, a setting your browser keeps for up to 7 days, and may set a security cookie if it has to check you’re not a bot. Your IP address is needed to send you the game, so without it you can’t play. Nothing loads from any other company.
Sharing
Your receipt image is made on your device. Nothing leaves it unless you share: then the app you pick (like X) gets the image and a link with your bill and apartment, under its own policy.
Legal basis
Argentina (Ley 25.326): hosting data is used because it’s needed to provide the game you ask for. Game stats are statistics that don’t identify you and that we don’t attribute to anyone (art. 28); they’re on by default, and you can switch them off.
UK and EU, where their law applies: our legitimate interest in running the game, keeping it safe and seeing how it’s played (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). Object to game stats any time with the Stats switch; hosting data is needed to deliver the game.
Kids
Smash is for a general audience. IP addresses are used only to run the site, never to contact anyone.
Your rights
Email contact@rekonmedia.com to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected, updated or deleted. It’s free. We reply to access requests within 10 calendar days and to correction or deletion requests within 5 working days. Because we never store IP addresses and stats carry no ID, we usually hold nothing linked to you, and if so we’ll tell you.
If you email us, we get your address and your message (our email is hosted by Google). We use them only to answer you, and delete them once your request is handled.
Complaints: Argentina, the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (argentina.gob.ar/aaip/datospersonales); UK, ico.org.uk; EU, your national data protection authority.
